Tyler Davis, 20, of 317 Miami St., Quincy, was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle related to an incident Tuesday morning.
Deputies received a report about 10:15 a.m. from officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department regarding a man threatening to harm himself who had just left the city limits and was possibly heading to the Quincy area.
Deputies were able to locate Davis in the area of Township Road 229 north of State Route 235. He told deputies that there was a firearm located underneath the passenger seat of the vehicle
Davis said the firearm did not have a round in the chamber, but that the magazine was loaded. Deputies located the firearm without further incident.
Davis was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
Driver transported from C.R. 130 crash
Marsha L. Wright, 72, of Lakeview, was transported by Huntsville EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a crash Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a northbound Chevrolet Volt on County Road 130 at the intersection of County Road 37 about 9:45 a.m.
A westbound Ford F-350 operated by Jacob S. Williams, 19, of Jackson was traveling on C.R. 37 and reportedly failed to stop at the sign sign. His vehicle was struck by the Wright vehicle.
Williams was cited for a stop sign violation. He did not report any injuries.
Damage was heavy to the Wright vehicle, which was towed from the scene. No damage was reported to the Williams vehicle.
