Robert A. Ferriman, 51, of Kenton, was charged Friday with violating a civil protection order and domestic violence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and a trooper of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to about 10 p.m. to residence on Highwood Avenue in Lakeview, on a report from the protected party in the CPO, Ferriman’s girlfriend, stating that he violated the CPO.
His girlfriend told deputies that Ferriman had pushed her while inside the residence and then reportedly had produced a handgun.
She said she went to a neighbor’s residence as a result.
Deputies said Ferriman would not come out of the residence, so law enforcement forced entry to his girlfriend’s home. He was located hiding under a bed in a bedroom.
While the defendant told deputies he had not possessed a firearm that evening, law enforcement on the scene located a 9 mm handgun underneath the bed where he had been hiding. He was taken into custody without further incident and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
