An aggressive driver was arrested on weapons charges Friday after a motorist told deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office the man displayed a gun from inside a vehicle.
Deputies received a call about 7:40 p.m. from a motorist who said he was eastbound on State Route 274 when the unknown driver followed him closely and drove aggressively. When the motorists stopped at the stop sign at U.S. Route 33, he said he could see the driver of the other vehicle holding up a handgun inside the lighted cabin of the vehicle.
Darrel Drummond, 53, of 557 S. Madriver St., was stopped a short time later entering the city on Garfield Avenue at Sandusky, deputies report.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, Mr. Drummond had his hands safely on the steering wheel and admitted he had a weapon in the vehicle. Deputies located an unloaded .45-caliber pistol near the driver.
Mr. Drummond was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and aggravated menacing and was taken to the Logan County Jail.
