Mae Venice Salyer, 75, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on June 11, 1945, a daughter of the late Kay and Alma (Baldwin) Spradlin.
On August 24, 1963, Mae married Harvey Salyer Jr. in Paintsville, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Delena Van Voorhis.
Mae is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Salyer and Paul (Tiffany) Salyer; two grandchildren, Josie (Cole) Spence and Justin (Betsy) Stokes; great grandchildren, Jaley, Masen, William, and one on the way; three sisters, Opal Traxler, Rose (Doug) Hackworth, and Lura Janice Tipton; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Alma Spradlin, Loretta Poe, and Prentice (Polly) Salyer; and many nieces and nephews.
Mae retired from Logan Acres, where she was fondly known as “Moma Mae”.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Paintsville, Kentucky.
