A name well known in the local basketball community suddenly passed away Wednesday.
Bill “Skeeter” Moss, who was in his 31st year as the head girls basketball coach at Urbana High School, died at the school.
Moss was 59.

The Hillclimbers were scheduled to play Tecumseh just a few hours later.
Moss, who graduated from Urbana in 1976, captured 403 victories while leading the Hillclimbers. He coached them to back-to-back state championships in 1992 and 1993. His teams won three regional titles and played in three state final fours.
