Village of Lakeview council bid a fond farewell in a regular meeting Tuesday to its longtime public servant, Pat Parish, who retired after 28 years of service to the village.
Parish began working fulltime for the village in 1991, and originally was hired in as the water superintendent.
He assumed the role of administrator in 2006 when the village disbanded its board of public affairs.
Parish grew up in the village of Lakeview, and worked one summer for the village as a youth, he said Monday ahead of the council meeting.
He returned to his hometown in 1987.
Council and Mayor Ryan Shoffstall presented the outgoing administrator with a plaque Monday recognizing his years of service to the village.
