Logan County Health District officials reported Tuesday that the agency is in the process of COVID-19 vaccination, and is coordinating clinics for the critical groups that are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1A of distribution at this time.
The LCHD follows the Ohio Department of Health’s Vaccination Distribution Plan for those that are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1A while the vaccine is in limited supply. Individuals in the first distribution group include:
• Health care workers and personnel who are routinely involved with the care of COVID-19 patients;
• Residents and staff at nursing homes;
• Residents and staff at assisted living facilities;
• Patients and staff at state psychiatric hospitals;
• People with developmental disabilities and those with mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, who live in group homes, residential facilities, or centers and staff at those locations;
• Residents and staff at Ohio veterans homes; and
• EMS responders.
If you are included in Phase 1A and have not been given the opportunity for vaccination yet, contact the health district office at (937) 651-6244.
Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health also recently announced a list of individuals who will eligible for Phase 1B of vaccine distribution, which is expected to begin toward the end of the month, the governor said at his press briefing Tuesday.
Individuals eligible in that group include: Ohioans age 65 and older; those living with severe congenital, developmental or early-onset medical disorders; and adults who work in schools.
Logan County residents who are age 65 and older should call (937) 651-6244 to be added to a waiting list. Those under age 65 should wait for further instructions.
“As our vaccination effort continues to unfold, we will keep you informed through the local paper and radio stations, our website and social media pages for those that are currently being vaccinated,” Nursing Director Kelly Reaver said. “Please do not call asking when your group will be vaccinated.
“Remember that all available vaccines will be administered to those who choose to receive it.”
The LCHD understands the difficult decisions being made during the COVID-19 pandemic and appreciates your dedication to the health and safety of all Logan County residents and visitors.
