Over 40 people gathered at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 7) to celebrate twenty years of ACLB-sanctioned duplicate bridge in Logan County.
Those joining the celebration came from all over West Central Ohio, including Dayton, Springfield, Columbus, Marion, Lima and Findlay.
The Logan County Bridge Club was created in 2001 by David Dishop with sanctioning by the American Contract Bridge League.
John Knisely was the first Director.
Dinner was catered by The Spot. Recognized for achieving the rank of ACBL Life Master were Norine Kmett, Dwight Larcomb, Carol Parker, Pat Whalen, David Dishop, Peggy Dishop and Tina Gay. Eleanor Gay, Jim Rash and John Knisely were recognized for attaining Silver Life Master status.
Humorous stories were shared by Wanda Stahler, who talked about her “Golden Fly Swatter Award,” and by Jim Rash who related memorable moments from Bridge in the Barn games.
The afternoon culminated with a game of duplicate bridge. Players and winners from the local area were Peggy & David Dishop, Allen Hadley, Cathy Keely, Louann Kelley, John Knisely, Dwight Larcomb, Joan Lochtefeld, Janette MacConnell, Carol & David Parker, Jim Rash, Roger Saul, Sharon Shafer, Dianna Sheeley, Barbara Trowbridge, Pat Whalen, and Joyce Zilles.
LCBC games are held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center.
