TROY — Two local residents were arrested in connection with a burglary to a home in Versailles.
Richard Cody Dircksen, 25, of Lakeview, was arrested at gunpoint Sunday after being found under the northbound on-ramp of Interstate 75 near Motel 6, the Troy Daily News reported.
He is currently incarcerated in the Logan County Jail on drug possession and tampering with evidence charges but is expected to be be charged with the burglary, which occurred in Darke County.
Olivia Sandford, 22, of Zanesfield, was later charged with complicity to commit burglary and trespassing, both felonies of the second degree.
Jheramy Andress, 30, of Piqua, was charged with receiving stolen property while a warrant was issued for Brooke Montgomery, 20, of Piqua.
Officers of the Troy Police Department began investigating the incident following a report of a disturbance at the Royal Inn around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Sandford allowed officers to search the room and they found an airsoft gun made to look like a real gun, a live 9 mm round, and a jewelry box with its contents on the floor.
Sandford told officers she had picked up the alleged suspects in Darke County and claimed they went to a house that one subject said was his grandfather’s home while she and Montgomery stayed in the car, the newspaper reports.
Later, she drove them to Piqua where they cashed traveler’s checks and used the Coinstar machine. She also said they went to New Bremen to purchase methamphetamines.
Officers were told by a nearby gas station attendant that Dircksen came in the store and paid for crackers using coins in cases. The mint 2012 quarters were recovered.
