Lynette Abke, Mary Rutan Hospital Pediatrics certified nurse practitioner, is one of a number of community leaders who elected to participate in Benjamin Logan Schools’ “Get Caught Reading” campaign that takes place throughout March, which is also National Reading Month. Abke shared that she loves reading the Tacky Penguin books by Helen Lester is because “even though Tacky is an odd bird, he is endearing anyway.” Photos of the participating community members reading their favorite children’s books, trade books, professional magazines, manuals, newspapers or family-friendly books will be shared via the school district’s social media sites each day this month, with some days having multiple posts. “By participating in the Benjamin Logan Schools ‘Get Caught Reading’ campaign, the community members are helping to communicate the powerful message that reading is both a real joy and the gateway to a world of opportunities,” shared Sally Stolly, Benjamin Logan director of administrative services.
