The COVID-19 vaccine providers in Logan County are preparing for Phase 1B of Ohio’s vaccine rollout that begins this week.
Each vaccine provider — which locally includes the Logan County Health District, Mary Rutan Hospital and Kroger Pharmacy — expects to have only a limited supply of the vaccine for the initial distribution to Phase 1B recipients, officials said in a release.
Logan County residents who fall in Phase 1B of the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan who are able to access vaccine are:
• This week — Ohioans age 80 and older.
• Week of Jan. 25 — Ohioans age 75 and older and those with severe congenital or developmental disorders.
• Week of Feb. 1 — Ohioans age 70 and older and employees of K-12 schools that wish to remain or return to in-person or hybrid models.
• Week of Feb. 8 — Ohioans age 65 and older.
Initially, Phase 1B vaccine is in limited supply and is only going to be available for specific critical populations.
“Once the vaccine is more widely available, vaccines will be available to all Ohioans,” Logan County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott said. “We urge everyone to be patient during the process.”
Vaccines will be available at several locations throughout Logan County for the populations described above:
• Logan County Health District — Logan County Residents eligible for vaccine in Phase 1B are encouraged to use the online waitlist tool available at www.loganhealth.org. The online waitlist form is the fastest and most preferred method of being added to the waitlist at the LCHD. If you are unable to use the online waitlist tool, you may call (937) 592-9040, Option 6. Once on the waitlist, the health district staff will call to schedule an appointment time and provide registration forms. Appointments are required.
