Russells Point Village Council in a regular meeting Monday approved a litter and weed ordinance, repair estimates to two of its vehicles and swore in a new police officer.
The litter and weed ordinance, which passed council on a third reading, requires council to notify property owners only once per calendar year of excessive weeds or trash on their property.
After notifying property owners by mail, the ordinance empowers the village to cut weeds or clean up debris, and then invoice the property owner for the work.
