Lester “Leon” Snyder Jr. of Belle Center died in Christ on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at the age of 75.
He was born July 11, 1942, to the late Lester and Helen Snyder of Belle Center. He was a 1960 graduate of the Belle Center High School and served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965.
He married Judith Ann Prall on July 22, 1961, and she survives with their three children, Paula (Greg) Dappert of Belle Center, Lester III (Stephanie) Snyder of Belle Center and Jessica (Charles) Amy of Granville; four grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Wisniewski, Laura (Tristin) Harshfield and Kayla and Lauren Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Kinnley and Lainey Harshfield and Zane Wisniewski; a brother, Stephen (Jo Anne) Snyder; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Snyder; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were a baby sister, Paula, and brother, Allen Snyder. Leon retired from General Dynamics and Sypris Solutions as a journeymen electrician. He was an airplane enthusiast and was a member of the EAA and had his pilot’s license. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Logan County History Center.
Pastor Eric Cook officiates a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Feb. 3, 2018, in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St., Belle Cente, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, and one hour prior to the funeral.
Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
