Environmental health director retiring, interim nursing director named
Leadership changes are shaping up in two departments at the Logan County Health District in the next two months, with the retirement resignation of Environmental Health Director Craig Kauffman accepted at the board of health’s regular rescheduled Wednesday afternoon meeting, and the previously announced retirement of the nursing director.
Kauffman, who has worked in environmental health field for 30 years — most of that time at the Logan County Health District, along with several years at the Champaign County Health District — retires effective Nov. 1.
“He has been just tremendous for our department,” Logan County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott said. “I want to thank him for everything he’s done.”
