LaVerne Neal, 82, of Marysville, died at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
She was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Alger, to the late Jay and Esther Tidd Zeigler. She married Richard “Dick” Parker and she later married Harry Neal, and both preceded her in death.
LaVerne retired from Mary Rutan Hospital where she worked as a registered OB nurse and was a Lamaze instructor.
She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Bellefontaine and a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton. She served as a 4-H adviser for many years.
She is survived by four sons: Jeff (Heidi) Parker of Lakeview, Jerry (Marci) Parker of Reynoldsburg, Duane (Julie) Parker of Roundhead and Rick (Katie) Parker of Alger; a daughter, Vicky (Scott) King of Bellefontaine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Delmar (Linda) Zeigler of Alger.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Funeral services begin at noon Monday, July 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, where calling begins at 10 a.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Randall Forrester officiates. Burial is in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
