The 35th annual Band Spectacular was a success at Bellefontaine High School Saturday night, where a large crowd was entertained by the host band and seven other area bands at AcuSport Stadium.
The Band Spectacular started as a band competition, and then evolved into a fun performance opportunity for area bands.
A variety of diverse music and style were featured in each band’s performance.
Bands from Riverside, Jackson Center, North Union, Triad, Urbana, Indian Lake, Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine participated.
The theme for the BHS band show this fall is “On the Radio: Songs of Generation Z,” and the featured songs are “Firework,” “Cupid Shuffle,” and “Get Lucky.”
“We’re going with a crowd-pleaser this year,” BHS Band Director Jeremy Karg said. “We are usually a contest band, but we decided to hold off another year on contests because of the pandemic. It’s more of a modern show than what we’ve done in the past.”
“The Pride of the Tribe” also performs at the 2021 Buckeye Invitational at Ohio Stadium Saturday, Oct. 16.
