Indian Lake’s boys basketball team hung tough Friday, but a gritty North Union squad pulled away for a 69-52 win in Central Buckeye Conference play.
The Lakers slide to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the CBC Mad River division. The Wildcats stay undefeated at 5-0, 3-0.
North Union pulled ahead at the end of the first quarter for a 13-8 lead. The Wildcats went on a 24-13 run in the second quarter to build a 37-21 advantage at halftime.
The Wildcats stayed in control in the third quarter for a 45-31 lead and North Union finished off the win by outscoring the hosts 24-21 in the final period.
Austin Parker fueled the Laker offense with 24 points and Luke Jackson tallied 12 points.
In junior varsity action, Indian Lake topped North Union 44-34. Logan Evans paced the Lakers with 15 points and Caleb Wurster had 12 points.
Indian Lake faces Upper Scioto Valley on Monday for a non-league contest held at the Hoosier Gym in Indiana.
