After trailing at halftime, Indian Lake’s boys basketball team overpowered host Urbana in the second half Friday for a 57-44 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division victory.
The Lakers move their record to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the CBC Mad River standings. The Hillclimbers drop to 1-3, 0-2.
The two teams exchanged blows in the opening quarter, with the Hillclimbers emerging with a 12-10 advantage.
Urbana then pushed its lead to three points (26-23) into halftime.
It was all Indian Lake in the second half, though, as the Lakers outscored the Hillclimbers 34-18 over the final two quarters.
Luke Jackson powered the Lakers’ offense with 20 points, Austin Parker tallied 13 points and Zander Barnes added 12 points.
In junior varsity action, Indian Lake edged Urbana 43-41. Logan Evans led the Lakers with 15 points.
Indian Lake is back on the court tonight at home against Jackson Center.
