After being hampered by an injury during his senior season at Indian Lake, Ethan Pequignot is looking forward to returning to the game of soccer at the college level.
Pequignot recently decided to further his career at Carroll University, an NCAA Division III institution located in Waukesha, Wis.
Despite being sidelined by a hip injury in his senior season, Pequignot holds several Indian Lake soccer records, including most goals in a game and most points in a game.
Pequignot received interest from the Carroll coaching staff last summer and he in turn took a visit to the campus. That was enough to sell him on the Pioneers.
Not only was he impressed by the soccer program, Pequignot was attracted to the strong academics that Carroll offers.
“I will definitely come out with my degree, that’s the big thing they push as a Division III college,” said Pequignot. “I also want to have the experience as a student-athlete and really bond with my new team, make some memories and maybe break some records there.”
Pequignot plans to study cybersecurity in college.
He has played soccer since he was young child as part of local, regional and national youth club soccer teams. He travelled to Europe last summer to represent the United States with the USA Galaxies Team. Pequignot has also served as a local youth soccer referee and coach.
