Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team finished 1-1 during a tri-match Saturday against Bellbrook and host Vandalia-Butler.
The Raiders fell to the Eagles in the first match 25-23, 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, but bounced back to beat V-Butler in the second match 25-13, 25-20, 25-18. The Eagles beat the Aviators in four sets in the day’s other match.
Ben Logan’s record is now 10-4 on the season, Bellbrook improves to 9-7 and Butler is 5-9.
On the day, Molly Vance piled up 21 kills and three aces to pace the Raiders. Bailey Shope had 16 kills, 14 blocks and six digs, Lynzee Cronkleton dished out a career-high 51 assists, three kills, three aces and five digs, Kylie Frazier had 18 kills, 11 digs and 12 assists, Ryelle Gibson recorded 11 kills and three blocks, Jillian Plikerd had 10 points and seven digs with Corinne Herring adding 24 digs.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan fell to Bellbrook and Butler to drop its record to 11-3. The Raiders lost to the Eagles 25-20, 25-21 and then lost to the Aviators 25-12, 25-17.
Haleigh Brentlinger sparked Ben Logan’s efforts with 10 points, two kills and four blocks, Brielle Moorhouse had 19 assists, three digs and was 12-13 serving, Macy Matthews had seven kills and a block, Sidney Puckett had five kills and six digs, Lily Blackburn tallied four kills and five digs and Elliott Bailey added eight digs.

WL-Salem wins two, loses one at Minster tourney
West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team went 2-1 Saturday at the five-team Minster Invitational.
The Tigers defeated Arcanum 25-14, 23-25, 25-19 in the first match, but then lost to host Minster 25-10, 24-26, 25-14. Then because of the tourney format, the Tigers faced Arcanum again and won 25-19, 25-22.
WL-Salem is now 12-3 on the season.
Alex Burton led the charge for the Tigers throughout the tournament with 45 kills, 25 digs, two aces, one block and was 17-20 serving. Gabby Williams recorded 67 assists, 21 digs, two kills, two aces, one block and was 36-38 serving and Michele Smith tallied 21 digs, 14 kills, one block and was 26-28 serving.
Also for the Tigers, Sydnee Payer had seven kills, seven digs and one block, Selena Weaver had eight kills, three digs and two blocks, Ally Garver had 20 digs and was 13-13 serving, Jaelen Meeker had 22 digs, two aces and was 31-31 serving and Kaleigh Wilcox had five aces, 13 digs and was 27-28 serving.
WL-Salem hosts Greenon on Tuesday.
Riverside goes 1-1 at tri-match
Riverside’s volleyball team traveled to Jackson Center on Saturday for a tri-match with Covington.
The Pirates finished 1-1 on the day and are now 8-6 on the season. They rallied for a three-set win over the Buccaneers 24-26, 25-11, 25-16, but then lost to the Tigers 25-17, 25-9.
Lauryn Sanford sparked Riverside with 18 kills, Jenna Woods tallied 10 kills and Allison Knight added 16 digs.
Riverside travels to Benjamin Logan today for a Fight for Family match at 5:30 p.m.
Calvary Christian goes 1-1
Calvary Christian’s volleyball team fell to the Ohio Eagles on Friday in four sets 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, but came back Saturday to defeat DePaul Cristo Rey in three sets 25-15, 25-6, 25-11.
The Spartans are now 7-9 on the season.
Abby Jenkins led Calvary in the win over DePaul Cristo Rey with 19 points, Naomi Cook had 15 points, Ellie Young had seven kills and Lillian Zamora tallied 13 assists.
Cook led the Spartans against the Ohio Eagles with 23 points, Karys Varner had seven kills, Zamora had five assists, Erin Young had two aces and Elisha Carter led the team in digs.
In junior varsity action, Calvary Christian beat DePaul Cristo Rey 25-18, 25-6. Julie Childers served 21 points to pace the Spartans, Isabel Schmidt had three kills and Jayla Wilson had seven assists.
