West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team delivered a convincing three-set win over visiting Greenon on Tuesday 25-19, 25-12, 25-3 in Ohio Heritage Conference play.
The Tigers run their record to 13-3 overall and 10-2 in the OHC standings, while the Knights fall to 3- 7, 3-7.
Alex Burton continued to fuel WL-Salem with 12 kills, three aces, 17 digs and one block, Michele Smith had 10 kills, nine digs and was 5-6 serving, Gabby Williams had two aces, 27 assists, 11 digs and was 7-7 serving and Selena Weaver tallied seven kills and two digs.
Also for the Tigers, Ally Gaver had five digs, was 22- 22 serving and was 9-10 on serves received, Jaelen Meeker recorded three aces, four digs and was 18- 19 serving and Kaleigh Wilcox added nine digs, was 9-10 serving and 9-10 on serves received.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem zapped Greenon 25-13, 25-8. Rylie Schultz paced the Tigers with nine aces, one kill, two digs and was 17-18 serving, Naomi McGill had one ace, five assists, five digs and was 6- 7 serving, Emily Bolton had five assist and six digs, Josie Kennaw had four aces and was 9-10 serving and Chiara Prodda added five kills with one ace.
WL-Salem travels to Northeastern on Thursday for its next OHC contest.
Ben Logan bounces London
Benjamin Logan’s vol- leyball team grabbed a four-set win over visiting London on Tuesday.
London won the first set 25-18, but saw Ben Logan come back to take the next three sets 25-21, 25-20, 25- 20 to claim the win in Central Buckeye Conference action.
The win boosts the Raiders to 12-4 overall as the Red Raiders slide to 7- 5.
Lynzee Cronkleton helped power Ben Logan with 13 points serving, six kills, three aces and 16 assists, Molly Vance led in
kills with 11, Ryelle Gibson tallied 10 kills and three blocks, Kylie Frazier had eight kills, 20 assists and nine digs, Corinne Herring posted 14 digs, Jillian Plikerd recorded 12 points and seven digs and Bailey Shope added three kills and three blocks.
London beat Ben Logan in the junior varsity match 26-24, 25-14. Haleigh Brentlinger led the Raiders
with five kills, one block and was 6-6 serving, Lauren Dixon had four kills and four assists and Brielle Moorhouse dished out eight assists and had one kill.
For the junior varsity Gold team, Ben Logan defeated Elgin in straight sets. Junette Ly sparked the Raiders with six kills, Maven Rhoades had three aces, Jordan Sexstone had
four kills and one ace and Alison Armentrout and Kaitlyn McMurrough had three kills apiece.
Ben Logan is back on the court Thursday at North Union for CBC play.
Lakers fall to Cougars
Indian Lake’s volleyball team was taken down by host Kenton Ridge in straight sets Tuesday 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup.
The loss brings the Lakers to 3-13 overall and the Cougars to 4-11.
Allix Cotterman provid- ed a bright spot for Indian Lake with 23 digs and was 30-33 on serves received, while Callie Notestine had seven assists and was 10-10 serving.
Kenton Ridge rallied to take the junior varsity match against Indian Lake 18-25, 25-19, 25-22. That drops the Lakers’ record to 8-8 on the season. Ally Kinney led Indian Lake with seven kills and was 11-12 serving.
Indian Lake hosts Northwestern on Thursday for another CBC contest.
Madison Plains downs Triad
Triad’s volleyball team was swept by visiting Madison Plains in three sets on Tuesday 25-13, 25- 11, 25-19 during Ohio Heritage Conference play.
The Cardinals fall to 1- 14 on the season.
Kelsey Cole paced Triad with nine points, five kills, four assists, 17 digs and eight blocks, Jordyn Unger tallied nine points, two aces and 15 assists, Holly Alvoid had six points, 47 assists and 13 digs and Emma Dorn tallied six points, two aces, two assists and nine digs.
Also contributing were Gracie Sheets with three points, three assists and 15 digs, Kendell Hughes with four points, two assists, 20 digs and four blocks and Bailey Perry with five points, one assist and 17 digs.
Triad travels to West Jefferson on Thursday.
