Riverside’s state-ranked softball team got its postseason off to a hot start Tuesday as it handled visiting Yellow Springs 21-0 in five innings.
The Pirates are currently ranked fifth in the Division IV state poll. They are now 18-2 and host 21st-seeded Botkins on Thursday in a semifinal game.
Jalynn Stanley had another stellar outing for RHS in the pitching circle. She fired a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks. Riverside’s offense was also at the top of its game with 14 hits.
