Bellefontaine’s girls bowling team captured its third consecutive Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail tournament championship Friday during the league meet at Southwest Bowl in Urbana.
“I’m really proud of these girls and the way they stayed focused today,” said BHS girls head coach Jane Kline. “They really wanted to win the CBC for the third time in a row. It was a great day to be a Chieftain.”
Bellefontaine and Jonathan Alder were tied in the league standings after the regular season. On Friday, though, the Chieftains delivered to win the league title.
Bellefontaine’s girls finished the day holding off Jonathan Alder 3,456-3,292 in the team scores to win.
Individually for the Chiefs, Lindsey Heminger led with games of 218, 216 for a 576 series, Kayla Watkins had a game of 225 and a 540 series, Ashley Ehmer rolled games of 183 and 188 for a 521 series, Macie Smith posted a game of 196 and a 490 series and Akayla Ryan rolled a game of 162 and a 476 series.
