Indian Lake’s Dylan Knotts and Cole Mefford each won both of their matches on the first day of the Division III district tournament Friday at Wilmington to advance to today’s semifinals.
Knotts and Mefford each need one more win today, either in the semifinal round, or in the consolation semifinals, to earn a spot in the state tournament next week. The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance.
Knotts (160) opened with a pin of Tri-County North’s Tristen Hayslett in 1:27. The Indian Lake senior then pinned Corey-Rawson’s Deonte Davis (3:22) in the quarterfinals.
