Kirk Lewis, 58, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
He was born in Xenia on June 15, 1960, the son of the late Charles and Charlene Walker Lewis. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Tim Lewis.
On Aug. 24, 2000, he married the former Karen Clark and she survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Natasha Lewis, Morgan Lewis Young and Kea Lewis; three sons, Colin Lewis, Ian Springs and Miles Lewis; a stepson, Trell Clark; six grandchildren, Donald Trent III, Airana Young, Yucari Helfrich, Drevyn Lewis, Tytan Lewis and Aurora Lewis; two sisters, Vicki Patton and Mitzi (Reggie) Washington; three brothers, Doug (Mary) Lewis, Alvin Lewis and Thomas “Chopper” Lewis; a cousin, Joe (Betty) Patrick; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kirk graduated from Springfield South High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he had worked for Dennis Hydrolics in Marysville. He was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, bowling and playing softball, but his favorite time was when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Pastor Karen Cane officiates a funeral service at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 25, at Christ Our King Church, 1325 County Road 9, Bellefontaine, following visitation that begins at 2 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
