Kathleen E. Tackett, 91, passed away at her daughter’s home in West Liberty on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. Kathleen was born April 28, 1927, to the late James and Mabel Leona F. Miller McGee in Bellefontaine.
She was married to Algay R. Tackett in Greenup, Ky., on Nov. 28, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She was a homemaker and a stay-at-home Mom until her children married Then she went to work for several years at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty, until 2012, where she met many of her longtime friends. She was a wonderful, caring and a big hearted person with a good sense of humor. She had a passion of baking homemade pies, breads and cookies. She loved her many “Girl Trips” to Tennessee. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Wayne) McKeen; grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Furr and Matt (Marla) Tackett; great-grandchildren, Sidney, Kaiden, Andrew, Kaison, Maelee, Everly, Keegan and Reiley; sisters, Janet (Jerry) Predmore and Phyllis Predmore; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son, James H. (Martha) Tackett; grandchildren, James B. Tackett and Samantha Tackett; brothers James (Beatrice) McGee Jr., Ernest (Ellen) McGee and Lenard (Sandy) McGee; and brother-in-law, Gerald Predmore.
Funeral services are at noon Thursday, Nov. 1, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, following visitation that begins at 10 a.m. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
