Junior Pearl Eleyet, 87, of Huntsville passed away at 9:22 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in West Liberty, Ohio on July 14, 1930, the son of the late Lawrence and Naomi (Jacobs) Eleyet. He is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Eleyet in 1958 and a step-son, Michael Anthony Wilkinson.
On April 16, 1975, he married Patty Rose (Faulder) and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2006.
He is also survived by two daughters, Debra Tipple of Lakeview and Sandra Eleyet of Huntsville, a son, Robert (Gidget) Eleyet of Bellefontaine, a step-daughter, Katherine (Ed) Kalunze of Baltimore, OH, three step-sons, Franklin “Frank” M. (Nancy) Wilkinson, Jr. of DeGraff, Lawrence “Larry” Allen (Linda) Wilkinson and David Lynn (Brenda) Wilkinson, both of Belle Center, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a daughter in law, Angie Wilkinson of Russells Point, many nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Roscoe and Katie.
Junior was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He worked for Miller-Meteor Coach & Ambulance in Bellefontaine and Piqua. He also worked as cemetery sexton for cemeteries in West Liberty, Huntsville, and Bellefontaine.
He was a life member of the VFW #1080, American Legion #173, and of the Korean War Veterans Association. He also belonged to the Eagles Lodge #2166, the Indian Lake Moose Lodge, and the Public Employees Retirement group.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
