Judith L “Judy” Harman, age 84 of West Liberty, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on October 10, 2021,
Judy was born on November 8, 1936, to Bick and Betty Detwiler of West Liberty, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Herbert and Margaret Sibley Harman; her husband Jack Harman, whom she married January 12, 1959, and her son Mark Harman.
Survivors include her son, Mike Harman (Jeri) and daughter, Anne Lowry (Tom). Her grandchildren include Amanda Harman (Anthony) and Tony (Dee) Harman, Colton (Renee) Lowry and Ross Lowry; great-grandchildren include Layne, Layla, Jack, Chance, Sam, Sophia, and Brady. Her siblings include her two brothers John (Sandy) Detwiler and Tom (Pat) Detwiler. She has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Judy graduated from Urbana High School in 1954. She was a lifelong secretary and bookkeeper. Judy started at Dye and Doss Insurance Company in Urbana. She later worked for David Younkman’s The Building Company, following that employment, she then worked for Steve Fansler Law Office in West Liberty for 25 years.
Judy played bridge for years in a card club until she was forced to quit due to losing her vision from macular degeneration. She really enjoyed going shopping, especially QVC, eating out, but mostly spending time with the family and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank her caretakers “Judy’s Angels” : Fawn, Emily C, Joanne, Julie, Emily S, Maddie, Jane, Chloe, Katie, and Samie. She had a special bond with each of them and they truly became part of her family and made her life more joyful
Visitation will be on Thursday October 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory 5591 US Route 68 South West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Graveside services will be at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Macochee Joint Ambulance 113 E.Newell St in West Liberty, Ohio 43357.
