A 26-year-old Bellefontaine man with a history of drug violations was arrested Thursday afternoon as part of a Logan County Joint Drug Task Force investigation.
Chase M. Whiting, 114 Court Ave., was charged with felony counts of possession of crack cocaine; trafficking crack cocaine; possession of prescription drugs; trafficking prescription drugs and tampering with evidence.
He also was served a warrant for violating a protection order.
Robin L. Richards, 50, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. C1, also was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking crack cocaine.
Both were taken into custody at the Richards’ residence around 3 p.m. when the task force and officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department served warrants for the charges.
Crack cocaine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia was seized along with $520 and two cell phones from Whiting.
He was previously investigated by the task force in 2013 and 2014 prior to his arrest and conviction in 2014 on two counts of trafficking crack cocaine and a count of possession of crack cocaine.
He was sentenced to three years in prison and was released in June.
• Investigators with the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force also report the arrest of a 63-year-old Lima man Wednesday on a warrant for two counts of trafficking in crack cocaine.
Authorities located suspect Dennis M. Langle about 1 p.m. in a parked vehicle in the 14000 block of State Route 366 and placed him under arrest.
Investigations had revealed that he was transporting crack cocaine to sell in the Lima area.
During a search of his person, authorities recovered a drug pipe used for smoking cocaine. From his vehicle, a digital scale and another drug pipe were seized. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
