John “Jay” M. Czug III, 79, of Russells Point, OH passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2024, at his home.
John was born on February 1, 1945, in Allentown, PA, son of the late John M. II and Margaret Trinkle Czug.
Jay is survived by four children, Jacquelyn Jaxen of Lake Worth, FL, Tracy Czug of Alabama, Cynthia Czug of Lake Wales, FL, and Christina Czug of Loxahatchee, FL, eight grandchildren, Johnathan, Christopher, Victoria, Gianna, Christian, Isabella, Jacob, and Joshua, six great grandchildren, Karmela, Asher, Anabelle, Brooklyn, Micah, and Briella, and a sister, Nancy Czug Roellig
Jay was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during Vietnam. Jay formerly owned and operated The Chalice Lounge in Grandview, OH for many years. He later worked at Honda Engine Plant in Anna as a security officer for Genric, where he earned security officer of the year and several accolades for safety and protection, retiring in 2017. After retirement, Jay fought and won a tough battle with colon cancer. He enjoyed cooking, entertaining others, and watching football. He was an avid gardener and growing vegetables, earning an award for the largest cucumber vine at Indian Lake. He was an extremely talented musician and self-taught himself to play many instruments. Jay was a prayerful man, a good friend, and did not know a stranger. He will be missed by those who knew him.
A memorial mass will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 464 Madison Ave, Russells Point with military rites performed following services by the United States Navy and Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
