John Eric Urban, 53, of Ridgeway, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, in Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.
He was born June 25, 1963, in Bellefontaine, a son of John Charles Urban II, surviving in Oklahoma, and Doris Zupp Tapp, who preceded him in death. His stepfather, Roger Tapp survives in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by his daughter, Chelsea (Tim Chapman) Urban of Bellefontaine; two sons, John “Ricky” (Katelyn) Urban of Lakeview and Mathew Urban of Ridgeway; four grandchildren, Aaralynn Chapman, Whyatt Urban, John Eric “Trey” Urban III and Niko Urban; four sisters, Tammy (Jim) Wilt and Jen (Dan) Woodell, both of Sidney, Terri (Scott) Crim of Iowa and Angela (Robert) Myers of Indiana; a brother, Andy Urban of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Ryder and Jake.
John was a 1981 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Ohio Hi-Point JVS and worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing and camping and anything that involved his family. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing yardwork and mowing his lawn. He also liked to ride his dirt bike.
Pastor John James officiates a memorial service at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in the Rushsylvania Church of Christ, 170 E. Mill St., Rushsylvania, where visitation is two hours prior to the service. Burial is in Rushsylvania Cemetery at a later date.
