John Blackburn, 64, of Huntsville, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in his home.
He was born July 17, 1952, in Columbus. John was a graduate of Fairbanks High School. He retired from Nash Finch as a warehouse employee and was a member of Teamsters Local 908, Lima. John was also a member of the Mechanicsburg Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3974 and the Sons of Amvets.
He enjoyed tinkering on anything, playing pool, golf, riding his Harley, football, and most of all watching his boys play sports and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Jesse (Lindsay) Blackburn, Chase (Megan) Blackburn and Xavier Anderson; significant other, Maleah Anderson; his grandchildren, Landyn, Bentley, Wyatt, Jameson and Elliotte; his sisters, Mary Blackburn, Kathy (Randy) Williams and Tammy (Randy) Collins; his brothers, Chuck Blackburn, Bruce (Judy) Blackburn, Mike Blackburn and Tony (Brenda) Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Kenneth and Madaline Moore Blackburn
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, in the Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home in North Lewisburg, where funeral services begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, with Pastor Russell Street officiating. Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery.
