Jerry Louise Abbott, 86, of Warsaw, Ind., formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 ,at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Xenia, to George M. and Ester P. Ford Herr.
She graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton and was married Aug. 23, 1952, in Liberty, Ind., to Robert W. “Bob” Abbott who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2012. She retired from the Moore Paper Box Company in Dayton after 26 years. She lived most of her life in Ohio, wintered in Dundee, Fla., and moved to the Warsaw, Ind., area in 2015.
She is survived by a daughter, Lee Anne (Mike) Stewart of Syracuse, Ind.; three granddaughters, Meghann (Adam) Wood of Warsaw, Ind., Janae (Sean) Bergsma of Leesburg, Ind., and Nicole Abbott-Farmer of Orlando, Fla.; a grandson, Scott (Amy) Stewart of Syracuse, Ind.; five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Michael W. Abbott.
Private family gathering will take place at a later date.
