Jerry A. Cox, 60, of East Liberty, passed away Wednesday morning, August 18, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Marysville.
Jerry was born in Bellefontaine on September 17, 1960, to Delmar D. and Tempa L. (Holycross) Cox. He was preceded in death by his father Delmar, and brothers Delmar “Dean” Cox and Michael Cox, granddaughter Haylee Jada Hampton, and longtime girlfriend Brenda McNutt.
Jerry is survived by his children: Jeremiah (Jeramy) Cox of Raymond, Samantha (Marcus) Hampton of Bellefontaine, Christina Cox of Bellefontaine, and Amanda Cox of East Liberty; 13 grandchildren: Patrick, Eli, Diallo, Angel, Princess, Christian, Skyler, Rebecca, Lisa, Dalton, Peyton, Caiden, and Braiden; 2 great-grandsons: Mathias and Caydence; his mother Tempa L. Cox of West Liberty; siblings: Larry (Judi) Cox of Alabama, Susan (Vern) Yelton of Huntsville, Juanita Shoemaker of Rushsylvania, Judy (Bob) Culp of Rushsylvania, Debb (Greg) Vickers, and his twin brother Terry B. Cox of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry loved being a grandpa and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved mud runs, old cars and trucks, and listening to old country music while hanging out with his twin brother Terry. Jerry enjoyed the holidays where he could see his whole family. He also enjoyed the occasional “joy ride” and just being outside.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
