Janet S. Franz, 75, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her residence.
She was born in Trenton, Michigan on April 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Edward P. and Regina (Brown) Kleinoeder.
On October 10, 1969, she married Joseph H. Franz and he preceded her in death in 1999. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Kleinoeder in 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Donavan) Austin of Bellefontaine, two sons, Brian (Mary) Franz of Columbus and Mark (Shannon) Franz of Millersport, two grandchildren; Aaron (Bridget) Austin and Abigail Austin, a great granddaughter, Camielle Austin, a sister-in-law, Lola Kleinoeder of Cridersville and two nephews, Gregory and David Kleinoeder.
Janet worked as a RN in the OB department at Mary Rutan Hospital for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where she sang in the choir. She was also the Vice President and longtime member of the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild. She enjoyed taking bus trips with the church and friends and enjoyed traveling and shopping with her family.
Father Shawn Landenwitch will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, November 19, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 316 E. Patterson Avenue, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 18, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine.
