Janet P. Allen, 82, of Bellefontaine, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday February 3, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born January 4, 1938 in Ridgeway, Ohio, the daughter of the late Gail T. and Grace P. Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her brother Bill Ferguson, and sister Judy Foster. Janet was a graduate a 1955 graduate of Rushsylvania High School. On October 15, 1955 she married her high school sweetheart and best friend Fred Allen, after four years of dating. She is survived by her husband Fred of 64 years; three children Teresa “Tess” (Russ) Brenneman, Shelley (Ken) Russell, Libby (Brian) Esch; brothers Lloyd (Nora) Ferguson, John (Lonnie) Ferguson. Grandchildren, Emily (Luke) Hoover, Bethany Foulk, Nicholas Russell, Hannah Allen, Jordan (Amanda) Russell Makayla Russell (Makayla Oney), Kati Allen-Anderson (Paul), BJ Esch, and Emma Esch.
Great grandchildren include Kylie Miller, Liam Miller, Alexis Close, Bentley Foulk, Dameion Wright, Lalla Wright, Carter Russell, Addalynn Russell, twins McKinley Allen, McCartney Allen, Adore Foster, and Royalty Lee.
Janet provided in home nursing for multiply residents in Logan for many years. She had a passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives. She loved saving her quarters to give to those less fortunate. She was a very loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus, and a member of Bellefontaine First Family Church. Janet enjoyed decorating headstones in our local cemeteries, she loved home cooked meals, her diet coke and Maries Candy. Celebrating the holidays, family visits and reunions were also very special to her. She will be deeply missed by not only her family and close friends but by all who knew her. Pastor John Musgrave will officiate a funeral service 11:30 AM Monday February 10th at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory 5591 US-68 South, West Liberty, OH 43357. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Sunday February 9th from 1-5 PM In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bellefontaine First Family 2833 US-68, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
