Dorothy Mae Perry, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, in Cocoa, Fla., at the age of 85.
She was born Jan. 31, 1934, in Bellefontaine, to Harold and Mae Mustaine. She spent a happy childhood there, graduating from Bellefontaine High School in 1952.
Dorothy married R. Flynn Perry November 26, 1954 and they moved to Virginia. She was a devoted
wife, mother and homemaker. She and Flynn had three children: Janelle, Skipp, and Jenna.
In 1966, the family moved to Pakse, Laos, where they spent almost five years. Dorothy loved the people
of Laos and Thailand. She enjoyed the food and culture, having her clothes made at the local
dressmaker and shopping at the street markets.
They returned to Virginia in 1970. After Flynn’s retirement in 1978, Flynn and Dorothy enjoyed their
retirement years, first in Houma, then Downsville, Louisiana, until Flynn’s death in 2003. She and Flynn
both enjoyed their grandchildren’s visits. Dorothy was active in her local church and had many good
friends. She was devoted to Skipp, throughout his disability and death in 2017. In June of 2019, she
moved to Cocoa, Florida with Jenna and son-in-law, Nelson. There she enjoyed seeing her grandson, his
wife and three great grandsons.
Dorothy loved the Lord and is now rejoicing with Him in Heaven. Praise God!
