James E. Miller, age 77, of Quincy, OH passed away on February 4, 2022 in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, OH.
Born on September 4, 1944 in Ambridge, PA, Jim was the son of the late Daniel and Evelyn (Moore) Miller.
Jim’s first wife, Vercie, preceded him in death in 1994. He married Joyce Kochendorfer on June 7, 1997, and she survives.
Jim is also survived by his children: Teri (Todd) Canter of Piqua, OH, Becky (Ed) McGowen of DeGraff, OH, and Lisa (Richie) Addison of WA; seven grandchildren: Johnny (Jill) Evans, Megan (Aaron) Tateman, Russell James McGowen, Elizabeth McGowen, Kierra Cavinder, Bethany Addison, Jacob Addison, and four great grandchildren: Parker Evans, Tucker and Emorie Tateman and Gatlin Cavinder.
Jim is also survived by three half sisters:Peggy Moore, Patty Moore, Sandy McKenzie, a half brother Ted (Susie) Miller and a step brother, Frank Purk.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, a son Daniel Miller preceded him in death.
Jim served his country in the U. S. Navy and he retired from Wilson Memorial Hospital where he worked in maintenance. The nurses there referred to him as “Whistling Jim.” He enjoyed collecting antique Briggs and Stratton Engines and for over 50 years he attended the Briggs and Stratton Engine show in Portland, IN. He was also an avid woodworker who enjoyed scrollwork and detail.
