James “Jim” Edward Creger was born Sept. 1, 1953, in Bellefontaine, to the late H.J. and Ruth Creger.
Having fought a good fight and kept the faith, he finished his course in this life March 1, 2019, at home in Tennessee, surrounded by family.
A 1971 Benjamin Logan Schools graduate, he worked for the United Telephone Company. He earned a degree from the Capital City Bible Institute and was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Crossville, Tenn.
Among many of his admirable qualities, Jim possessed a heart full of love that was beyond measure and is reflected in the lives of his survivors, which include his wife of 33 years, Chris Foulk Creger; children, Jennifer Mutchler, James (Kara) Mutchler and Kassi, Kelly, Kaitlyn, Kourtney and Kaleb Creger; sister, Janice (Jim) Kennaw of Rushsylvania; brother, Chuck (Karol) Creger of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Rhett, Beau, Sean, Kaylee, Tyler; and nieces and nephews, Jim and Greg Kennaw, Charlie Creger and Lisa Kennaw.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Thorton; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emery and Gladys Foulk.
A celebration of life service was March 5 at Cornerstone Baptist Church. A graveside committal service was March 6 at Crossville City Cemetery.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC, in Crossville, Tenn., was in charge of the arrangements.
