Indian Lake’s girls basketball team dominated the second half against visiting Waynesfield-Goshen Saturday and rolled to a 59-30 win in its season opener.
Indian Lake held just a two-point lead to end the first quarter (12-10), but outscored W-Goshen 18-7 in the second quarter. That vaulted the Lakers to a 30-17 halftime cushion.
The Tigers continued to fade in the second half as the Lakers went on a 29-12 run in the final two quarters. Indian Lake went on a 16-6 run in the third quarter to build a 46-23 advantage. The Lakers added a 13-6 run in the fourth quarter to finish the game.
In junior varsity action, Indian Lake beat W-Goshen 34-19. Stephanie Altstaetter led the Lakers with nine points and Meadow McCullough had seven points.
Indian Lake hosts Lima Perry on Tuesday in another non-league game.
