The Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Indian Lake community’s success for another year during Tuesday evening’s annual dinner.
Amber Fagan, 2020 incoming president, said it’s truly a blessing to live in “the beautiful Indian Lake.”
As a life-long Indian Lake resident, Fagan recognized the value in community.
“It’s very important for our community to come together,” she said.
Fagan remembered that once the school had some needs and it wasn’t long before the whole Indian Lake community was “pouring into the chamber bringing the things that were needed.”
“You don’t ever want for anything,” Fagan said.
Teasha Shoffstall agreed.
“The support from the community has been overwhelming,” Shoffstall said. “For us it’s about being able to help the community and bring people into our community. We grew up here, went to school here, graduated from here and now we raise our families here. Just working in the community, it’s just phenomenal.”
Renee Duff, outgoing treasurer, said it’s been “such a pleasure” working with the people of the Indian Lake community.
“We are all just making our community better and we have a lot of creative ideas,” she said. “We have a fantastic new staff that is very hard working.”
Duff mentioned that the chamber has a lot of great events upcoming to look forward to.
“There is literally something to do almost every month now,” she said. “We’re making it a better place.”
Duff also took the time to recognize outgoing chairman Darrin Haubert for his eight years of service on the board.
“He has really done a fantastic job for us,” she said. “He led our chamber for the last eight years with a lot of valuable financial and business advice and chaired numerous events and done that many times over.”
