The Indian Lake High School Chorale earned a superior rating at the recent District 11 OMEA Adjudicated Event at Bellefontaine High School, and advanced to the state competition in April.
Each choir must perform one required piece and two selected pieces, then sight-read. They are directed by Joyce King, who said, “We achieved this because the students held themselves accountable to a high standard of excellence in the classroom.”
Also earning superior ratings were the Bellefontaine High School symphonic choir, the BHS symphonic band and the Indian Lake High School choir, in Class B competition and the Benjamin Logan High School band in Class C competition. Excellent ratings in Class C competition were earned by the BLHS choir and the BHS concert band.
