Cortez Anderson, 61, of Las Vegas, was charged Sunday with abduction and domestic violence.
Around 3 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at Chillicothe Avenune and Caroline Street and observed the suspect standing outside a car parked in a driveway yelling.
Kary L. Anderson was inside the car crying and she said the suspect hit her in the face. Officers observed redness to the side of her head and arrested the defendant.
Officers also noted the driver’s door handle was ripped off the car.
The victim told officers she was with friends at a city bar after dropping the suspect off at 602 W. Chillicothe Ave. where the couple is staying. He was intoxicated from drinking and had been arguing with others, she said.
He returned to the bar enraged with her and forced her into the car. She drove them back to the residence. He hit her and demanded she get out of the car, exited the vehicle and walked around to the driver’s side.
He remains lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Woman charged with theft
Jaime L. Harvey, 41, of 1042 Heritage Court, was charged Monday evening with theft.
She allegedly concealed $160 worth of makeup items in her purse while at Walmart, 2281 S. Main St., and attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise, store employees reported.
She admitted to theft and pulled the items from her purse.
• Sandra J. Keykens, 32, of 419 N. Madriver St., Apt. T2, was lodged in jail Tuesday on a probation violation.
