PHILPOT |
Ryan K. Philpot, 22, of 812 Heritage Court, Apt. 16, was charged Tuesday with abduction, unlawful restraint, vandalism, criminal damaging, resisting arrest and two counts of domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the area around 10:10 p.m. and met with Indica Johnson, of the same address, and Kyerya Johnson, 809 Heritage Court, Apt. 30, at Kyerya Johnson’s apartment.
Indica Johnson told officers she attempted to leave her residence after a protracted argument with the suspect who is her husband. She called her sister who arrived to escort her out, but Philpot allegedly grabbed Indica and forced her back into the residence.
Kyerya stuck her foot into the doorway to prevent Philpot from closing the front door. The sisters were able to struggle free and headed to the nearby apartment.
The suspect allegedly punched Kyerya in the back and then threw his cellular phone at her, again striking her in the back.
Philpot had fled the area and was soon convinced via a phone call to return. He claimed he did not assault anyone.
When officers moved to arrest him, he began to struggle with them. Once handcuffed, he began banging his head into walls, damaging the drywall.
He was physically hauled from the building by officers.
He continued to slam his head into a police cruiser hood, then the ground and then a plastic partition inside the cruiser.
Philpot was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
