The Chiefs shot a 308 for runner-up honors in the Ryan Reynolds Invitational at Liberty Hills Golf Club.
Vandalia Butler won the 13-team tournament with a 296. West Liberty-Salem was one stroke behind Bellefontaine in third with a 309.
Several other local teams were in action. Ben Logan shot a 357 for ninth. Riverside was 11th with 387 and Indian Lake shot 399 for 13th.
Nicklaus Lyons led the way for the Chiefs with a 75. Javon Warner was right behind Lyons with a 76, Dillon Robb shot 78 and Connor Adelsberger and Hunter Karg each had 79. Derek McNutt added a 95.
“We are excited to have five guys shoot in the 70s,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Steider. “We did a great job of keeping our composure after a couple of bad holes and that helped limit our damage. It was a great day for scoring and we took advantage of that on a few holes.”
