Dancing elves and singing snowmen — or is it dancing snowmen and singing elves?— will bring a little bit of holiday magic to the Holland Theatre this weekend as Windmill Productions presents the classic fairy tale The Elves and the Shoemaker.
This charming musical features third- through sixth-graders from five area schools along with four homeschooled kids.
You’ll have two chances to see the show—Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m.
Each presentation will feature an opening act to add to the musical, which is approximately an hour long.
Director Nick Wallace and his wife, Angie, who also serves as music director and pianist for the show, will lead an interactive caroling singalong Friday night while the Bellefontaine High School show choir, Les Fons, will perform for Saturday’s matinee.
“It’s just a magical world with elves and a snowman chorus,” Wallace said. “And it’s a great message about kindness and doing things for others without expecting anything in return.”
The whole family is invited to enjoy this delightful and hopeful musical experience.
