A full house at Indian Lake High School took hit after hit as the writers behind award-winning songs delivered a knockout performance Saturday during the 5th annual Nashville Hitmakers concert. Guitar wizard Mike Loudermilk opened the show with his original song, Sunset OnIndian Lake. Indian Lake native Even Stevens led the first set along with Loudermilk, Wynn Varble and Spady Brannan followed by Ashley Cleveland, above far right, Mike Reid and Mac Davis who closed the show with his classic I Believe In Music, accompanied by the whole roster. Even also introduced a new original tune, Dream Bridge, referencing the popular bridge, Indian Lake and O’Connor’s Point. Scott and Diane Duff took home the autographed guitar, donated by Music Center USA, with the winning bid of $3,400, and a guitar handpainted by Marilyn Reed of Marilyn’s Artistry went to Judy Grubbs for $550. Proceeds from the event go to the sponsor Indian Lake Watershed Project, with a portion given to the ILHS music department. Recent ILHS graduate Michael Mallory also accepted the ILWP’s $1,000 scholarship given in memory of Mr. Stevens’ late father, Dr. Floyd Stevens, awarded annually to further music education.
