Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded at 3 p.m. Wednesday to the area of U.S. Route 68 just north of County Road 57 on a report of a vehicle that struck a guardrail.
Deputies report Donald Burkepile, 79, of Port Clinton, was operating a southbound pickup when an unknown northbound vehicle crossed the center line, and forced Burkepile to take evasive action.
His vehicle went off the right side of the road into a guardrail, causing moderate damage to the pickup.
The northbound vehicle then left the scene. Burkepile did not report any injuries. Investigation continues.
