A Huntsville man was charged with felony counts of burglary and possession of heroin Friday afternoon after he reported tried to elude deputies following a hit-skip crash in the village of Lakeview.
Cody J. Reed, 27, of 6618 Fruit St., was lodged in the Logan County Jail after he was located at 250 Bentz St.
Related to the crash, he reportedly was operating a southbound car in the 400 block of north Main Street in the village about 2:10 p.m. when he struck a mailbox at 465 N. Main St. and then a stop sign. He also drove through several yards at 465, 445, and 435 north Main Street. He then continued driving and was later located at the Bentz Street address.
A resident at that address reported that Mr. Reed came inside the home, and reportedly offered to pay her $1,000 if she would tell deputies that she was driving the vehicle.
The defendant also allegedly tried to discard his wallet and three gel capsules of suspected heroin at the Bentz Street home, where deputies located those items.
He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail. Mr. Reed also was charged with aggravated criminal trespassing, criminal damage and was cited for failure to control.

William F. Parrish, 30, of East Fultonham, was charged with criminal trespassing, aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct following an incident Friday morning at the home of his girlfriend’s grandmother.
