Helen S. Mohr, 88, of DeGraff, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was born in Logan County on Nov. 6, 1928, to the late Joseph Ephran and Thelma Rebecca Young Jackson.
On July 13, 1947, she married Richard Eugene Mohr in Newport, Ky., and he preceded her in death July 29, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Eva Brenner, Emma Cloninger and Katherine Danner; and four brothers, John, Robert, Bill and Paul Jackson.
Helen is survived by her three sons, Richard (Debra) Mohr, Robert (Kathy) Mohr and Christopher (Becky Jenkins) Mohr; six grandchildren, Kelly (Eric) Bell, Jill (Mike) Daniels, Jennifer (Dennis) Doseck, Angela (Jason) Laskodi, Kristan Bryant and Nicholas (Paige) Mohr; seven great-grandchildren, Harley Asbury, Hannah Asbury, Hadlie Asbury, Luke Doseck, Brook Bryant, Marcus Laskodi and Nolan Mohr; two brothers, Charles “Sonny” (Charlotte) Jackson and Howard “Bud” Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen and her husband owned and operated Mohr’s Market in DeGraff for 25 years. She attended the Stony Creek Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, sewing and reading to the students at Riverside Elementary School.
Pastor Ryan Claybaugh officiates a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, following calling from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
